Environmental Policy Analyst II (Closing Date: November 27, 2023)
The selected candidate will be responsible for the coordination and administration of a statewide air quality program involving mobile sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.  The position will be responsible to plan, organize, review and evaluate the work of technical staff comprised of environmental scientists and meteorologists/atmospheric scientists.  Specifically, the responsibilities include overseeing the work of technical staff assigned to the Climate Change and Mobile Sources Section in implementing the Low and Zero Emission Vehicle Program, implementing the Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program for light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles, Low Emissions and Zero Emissions Vehicles Program, the DERA Grant Program, conducting the Annual Greenhouse Gas Inventory for the State of Rhode Island and participating in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).  In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible to make important technical and policy decisions, make recommendations to management and perform any other regulatory or programmatic work that is required.

Air Quality Specialist I (Closing Date: November 16, 2023)
This position is for an Air Quality Specialist I position in the Toxics, Planning and Monitoring Section in the Office of Air Resources.  The position is an entry level position and will be involved in calculating emissions for the Air Emissions Inventory.  In addition, the entry level position will assist in researching, evaluating and revising state air quality standards, assisting with regulation development, performing field work, which may consist of monitoring and small source inspections, rebuilding the Air Toxics Operating Permit Program and assisting with preparation of State Implementation Plan (SIP) related documents.
