  Water hydrants along the bulkhead may continue to be used throughout the winter but must be shut off with all hoses disconnected when not in use to prevent freezing of main lines. If any hoses are found connected when not in use, they will be removed. Please report any leaks or concerns to the Coastal Resources office.

  Bulkhead areas adjacent to docks shall be clear of all gear for winter plowing operations. Any gear that remains in immediate loading and unloading zones will be removed by Coastal Resources.

Newport: All gear must be contained within your designated gear storage areas and removed from parking areas and roadways for plowing operations.

Galilee: The bulkhead area west of the Great Island Bridge is available to stage and power wash gear. Division of Coastal Resources regulation: § 1.8(GG) (3) states all gear in this area must be removed within 1 week. We hope that everyone is courteous and allows opportunities for all fisherman in port with fixed gear to stage and remove their gear, as space in this area is limited. Any gear left in this area for longer that one week will be deemed abandoned and disposed of.

Also, there is no washing down or discharging of salt and sand from any plow trucks or sanders from state owned water hydrants near the waterways or estuaries.
The water hydrants at the heads of docks are attended for vessels only and not attended to be used to wash down trucks, plows, or sanders.
