The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Division of Coastal Resources is in the process of applying for a FEMA grant in conjunction with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency for replacement of critical dock infrastructure in the Port of Galilee. This great opportunity will allow the DEM to raise certain docks that are used by commercial fishing and charter berth holders that currently are impacted by storms and sea level rise. By raising these docks and using floating dock systems we will mitigate future sea level rise issues, provide enhanced convenience for dock users, and protect this critical infrastructure against severe weather events.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this grant please notify Daniel Costa at the Division of Coastal Resources. We are happy to explain the project scope and address any questions. If successful in this grant opportunity, the project will provide protection to the Port of Galilee and its users for the next 50 years.
