MEETING NOTICE - REGULATORY WORKSHOP

Please be advised the DEM Division of Marine Fisheries will be holding a regulatory workshop on Monday, March 21, 2022, 5:00pm, to present changes that are to be made to the commercial licensing regulations (250-RICR-90-00-2)<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-90-00-2> pursuant to recent changes adopted by the RI legislature.  The regulations must be amended to be consistent with this adopted legislation, which primarily involves changes to license types issued and fees.  The anticipated effective date for this rule change is July 1, 2022.



Please note that this workshop and anticipated rule filing will not replace the Division's regular annual licensing review and regulatory cycle. These proposed changes aligning regulations with new legislature will be followed by the typical annual licensing regulatory cycle (i.e. workshop, hearing, Council meeting) beginning in late summer upon conclusion of this regulatory filing.
