[DEM-Coastal] Modification to Possession Limits

Dear Berthholders,

If you are participating in EITHER the 2024 Winter 1 Summer Flounder (Fluke) Aggregate Program, OR the 2024 Summer/Fall Aggregate Summer Flounder (Fluke) and Sea Bass Program, please be aware that there has been a change to possession limits, originally sent via the Division of Marine Fisheries listserv on Friday, March 1st.

NOTICE - Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota

  1.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, March 3, 2024, the possession limit for Summer flounder for participants in the Winter I Program of the Aggregate Program for Summer Flounder will be three thousand (3,000) pounds per vessel per bi-week (permitted vessels only); until further notice or until the next sub-period begins on May 1, 2024 at two hundred (200) pounds per vessel per day;
  2.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, March 3, 2024, the possession limit for the Black Sea Bass will be seven hundred fifty (750) pounds per vessel per week; until the next sub period begins on May 1, 2024, at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day;

Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/mfsizes.php.
