Attention Marine Fishers,
The 2025 commercial marine fishing license renewal deadline date is fast approaching. License holders in the following categories must renew no later than February 28, 2025:
* Multipurpose Licenses (MPURP)
* Resident Standard Fishing Licenses (RSTND)
* Nonresident Standard Fishing Licenses (NRSTND)
* Commercial Over 65 Shellfish Licenses (SFO65)
Failure to renew these licenses by February 28, 2025 will result in the assessment of a $200.00 late fee if license holders renew during the 60-day grace period from March 1, 2025 through April 29, 2025. The $200.00 late fee is in addition to the statutory license fee.
Please note Student Shellfish License holders (STUDSF) have until June 30, 2025 to obtain a new or renewed license. There is no grace period for Student Shellfish Licenses.
All commercial fishers must be in reporting compliance prior to renewal of their commercial license (see Part 2 - Commercial Marine Fishing Licenses, Landing Permits, and Party and Charter Licenses<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-90-00-2>; section 2.7.8). Questions regarding compliance should be directed to the DEM Division of Marine Fisheries<https://dem.ri.gov/natural-resources-bureau/marine-fisheries> at 401-423-1923 or 401-423-1926.
