Morning all,
Just a heads-up for the Newport Boat Show this weekend. As far as we are aware it is still going on. They will be using Pier 9 as a staging area on Sunday the 17th for their vendors to be able to get wrapped up quick. At 2PM there will be two attendants from UPP RI, the parking staff, to facilitate. Vendor vehicles should be showing up no earlier than 4PM however if a few shows before there shouldn't be any issues. They should be starting to slow down the number of vehicles in the yard by 630-7PM. The boat show staff has been warned that they are not to block access to vessels keeping all the fire lanes open and unloading zones open as well. If there is an issue to arise please find parking staff and kindly ask for assistance with moving a vehicle. Please do not confront the vendors, as they are only doing what they are told.
Please be kind and courteous this weekend.
On other notes please be aware of where you are parking your vehicles in the lot. We have had a few complaints of trucks and cars in fire lanes when vessels are leaving to fish. We do allow vehicles in fire lanes as long you are actively working on your vessel. Once you have finished please park in a space in the lot. If there are open large spaces please use those for the reefer trucks, and conversely please do not use the larger spaces for smaller vehicles. We appreciate your cooperation.
Have a good week.
Cheers
