[Owtsinfo] IMPORTANT update on N-removal systems limited to 50 approvals pending successful completion of required monitoring

N-removal systems approved under Rule 37.4.2(B)(i) are subject to monitoring of 10 systems (7 year round and 3 seasonal).   A maximum of 50 of each of these systems will be approved until sufficient data are received through the RIDEM monitoring protocol indicating treatment objectives are being achieved.

As of November 30, 2015 the number of approvals for sites requiring nitrogen reduction, for each of these technologies are listed below:

********* Norweco, Inc. Singulair TNT: 50* systems approved

*Absolutely NO additional permits proposing the Singulair TNT will be accepted for sites requiring nitrogen reduction until sufficient sampling, testing & reporting have been completed.

********* Orenco Systems Incorporated AdvanTex AX-RT: 50* systems approved

*Absolutely NO additional permits proposing the AdvanTex AX-RT will be accepted for sites requiring nitrogen reduction until sufficient sampling, testing & reporting have been completed.

********* Norweco, Inc. Hydro-Kinetic: 7 systems approved

********* Bio-Microbics BioBarrier: 1 systems approved

Designers considering specifying any of these technologies in a design plan for submission to the RIDEM OWTS Program are advised to contact the Permitting Program, before initiating the design, for an update on the number of these systems that have been approved.
