Attention Freshwater Wetland Professionals:

Upon recent review of all technically deficient Freshwater Wetlands applications, RIDEM Office of Water Resources has determined that approximately 50% of applications are submitted without placement & clear labeling of wetland flagging or identification of the limits of disturbance. This results in the issuance of deficiency letters and the need for multiple inspections, causing unnecessary permitting delays.

Please ensure that all field work is complete in accordance with Rule 7.05 and verified at the time all applications are submitted.

In order to reduce application deficiencies, Freshwater Wetland Professionals will be required to submit an affidavit (confirming that all flags are in place and limits of disturbance are clearly marked at the time of permit submission) along with the submission package, starting on January 1, 2016.
