This free workshop is geared toward entry-level professionals and those in related fields who would like to become more involved with floodplain management. This is a great informational and networking opportunity for those who are looking for ways to expand their careers in the environmental industry! It will feature:
* A panel of representatives from federal, state, municipal, private and non-profit sectors who will discuss their career paths and current floodplain management projects
* A discussion of floodplain management activities in RI, including an overview of the different organizations and agencies involved
* The Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) program: what is it and what are the benefits of becoming a CFM?
* An introduction to RIFMA: its purpose, structure and function in RI
