<p class=MsoPlainText>Alternative Technology - Nitrex System: RIDEM has
temporarily removed from the Nitrex A/E certification, authorizations and requirements
associated with use of the Nitrex system with reduced sized leachfields and
with PSNDs and BSFs. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Nitrex typically elutes high concentrations of soluble
BOD for 6-9 months following startup which may cause problems with small size
leachfields that rely on low BOD effluent for proper function. Pending
resolution to this startup condition and further notice from RIDEM, use of
Nitrex will be subject to the terms in the revised certification posted to the
RIDEM List of Approved Alternative/Experimental technologies, available at the
url below.<o:p></o:p></p>
