<p class="MsoNormal">USDA-NRCS SSURGO level soil survey maps and data are available in the field using an Android or Iphone smartphone via the SoilWeb products from the University of California Soil Resource Lab. The soils data is available in numerous platforms
including Google Maps, Google Earth and the SoilWeb app – all for free. The best place to find information is by going to:

</span>from the USDA-NRCS (Please note that there are a few months between Nov-Dec where the SoilWeb has not updated to the new USDA soils following the yearly refresh of SSURGO soils data). <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><u><span style="font-size:14.0pt">SoilWeb Information for OWTS Soil Evaluators<o:p></o:p></span></u></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Information provided by the SoilWeb that is useful for OWTS soil evaluators include: the soil parent material, drainage class, hydric soil rating, water table and all of the chemical and physical properties of the soil.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The RI NRCS is currently working on updating the spatial soils mapping for RI so that the polygons are more accurate. To increase the accuracy of the mapping high resolution elevation (Lidar), wetness index, imagery, and other remote sensing
data is used to modernize the soils data for RI. Updates are uploaded to the Web Soil Survey every October so be sure to use the latest soils data from RIGIS, Web Soil Survey and the SoilWeb products.
