[RIHESPAG] Gambling Training Academy

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to pass long this opportunity to participate in an upcoming training on treating those with gambling addictions. The upcoming Problem Gambling Services Academy provides CEU's, allows those who complete it to apply for a national certification on gambling treatment, and perhaps most excitingly, allows those who complete the course to become a provider that is reimbursable by the Problem Gambling service fund (administered by the RI State Lottery). This fund allows eligible providers to bill the fund for their services when they are treating someone with inadequate funds/insurance to cover their treatment. I'm planning on having Nancy Murray, the Problem Gambling Manager from the RI Lottery present at our next meeting and she will provide more details on the fund and how providers can access it but you can also contact her directly in the meantime if you have questions about the Academy or gambling treatment fund at: nmurray at rilot.ri.gov<mailto:nmurray at rilot.ri.gov> .
