[Rimarinefisheries] Smoothhound Sharks - Federal Commercial Shark Dealer Permit - Shark ID Workshop Notice

Commercial Shark Dealers:

In accordance with the Final Amendment 9 to the NOAA Fisheries 2006 Consolidated Atlantic Highly Migratory Species Fishery Management, as of March 15, 2016 all commercial dealers must have a valid Atlantic Shark Dealer permit to purchase smoothhound sharks. To obtain a federal commercial shark dealer permit, an individual must attend an Atlantic Shark Identification Workshop. As noticed previously, there is a Atlantic Shark Identification Workshop scheduled for  December 10, 2015 in Bohemia, NY (see below). This is the only remaining ID workshop scheduled at this time.

When submitting a federal permit application, Atlantic Shark Dealers must include a copy of a valid Atlantic Shark Identification Workshop certificate for each place of business listed on the shark dealer permit.
