[Rimarinefisheries] Regulation amendments

Hello,

 

Several amendments to the RI Marine Fisheries regulations were filed on
March 17, 2015 as a result of the public hearing held on February 16,
2015.  In summary, the amendments are as follows:


RIMFR Part III - Marine Fisheries Council

Section 3.1 - To remove section 3.1 in its entirety (modified and
relocated to RIMFR - Finfish, as part of the Division's regulatory
re-write).

 

RIMFR - Shellfish

Sections 6, 16, and 17 regarding regulations to reduce the risk of
Vibrio illness associated with the consumption of commercially harvested
quahaugs; and sections 8.2, 9.13.2 and 12.3.1 regarding technical
clarifications.

 

RIMFR Part X - Equipment Restrictions

Deletion of redundant sections that are currently included elsewhere in
RIMFR.

 

RIMFR - Part XV - Lobsters, Other Crustaceans, and Horseshoe Crabs

Section 15.13.2 regarding removal of the escape vent placement
requirement.

 

RIMFR - Finfish

Sections 7.1.1, 7.7.2, 7.9.2, and 7.14.2 regarding Quota Management
(modified and relocated from RIMFR Part III as part of the Division's
regulatory re-write); section 7.14, recreational Black sea bass; and
section 7.15, Spiny dogfish; and the entire regulation for general
editing for improved clarity.

 

Part XII - Striped Bass

Section 12.1 regarding management for recreational Striped bass.
