NOTICE

Modification of commercial possession limits for marine species managed under quota

This notice is issued in accordance with the provisions of Section 20-1-12.1 of the Rhode Island General Laws entitled "Modification of possession limits and seasons for marine species managed under quotas."

This modification is as follows:

Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 17, 2016, the commercial possession limit for Summer Flounder, will be DECREASED to 100 pounds/vessel/calendar day; and to 1,000 pounds/vessel/bi-week (i.e., every 2 weeks) for those vessels participating in the Aggregate Landing Program.

Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatres/fishwild/mfsizes.htm.
