[Rimarinefisheries] Narragansett Bay Shellfishing closure information

Pursuant to the Notice of Polluted Shellfishing Grounds May 2016 that became effective on May 28, 2016
Effective at Sunrise, Sunday January 1, 2017 the seasonal closure of Greenwich Bay (GA8-6) ended, however due to a precipitation event on  December 29, 2016 a seven (7) day conditional area closure went in to effect at noon December 30, 2016 closing all conditionally approved waters of Greenwich Bay (GA8-5).  This closure will remain in effect until noon January 6, 2017 unless otherwise amended.  Shellfishing is also restricted by winter harvest management rules.

Effective at noon, December 30, 2016 all conditionally approved waters of the Kickemuit River and Mt Hope Bay (GA17-1) are closed to shellfishing.  Due to the seasonal closure of the waters of the Kickemuit River (GA5-5) north and west of a line from the end of Sunrise Drive in Bristol to the RIDEM Range Marker located approximately midway on the shoreline of Touisset Point in Warren that went in to effect at sunrise, January 1, 2017 only those conditionally approved waters of Mt Hope Bay (GA17-3) south and east of the above stated line are scheduled to re-open at noon, January 6, 2017.  The Kickemuit River remains closed to shellfishing until Sunrise, Wednesday February 1, 2017.
