You're invited to the Rhode Island Farm & Sea to Campus Convening on February 24th from 8 am to 1:30 pm at the University of Rhode Island!

This half-day gathering, organized by Farm to Institution New England, will bring together farm to institution advocates and diverse representatives from Rhode Island colleges and universities for focused learning and networking to advance local foods efforts in the state.

The convening will highlight the importance of goal setting and strategies for tracking progress in local foods procurement and promotion. We will address how to build diverse partnerships to advance your local foods initiatives including cross-campus collaboration. Participants will learn best practices from experienced campus practitioners including many successful initiatives on Rhode Island campuses.

Who Should Attend

  *   Staff from Rhode Island colleges and universities including dining services, sustainability officers, faculty, administrators, and students
  *   Community partners such as local food and agriculture organizations
  *   Supply chain partners such as farmers, produce distributors, fishermen, and seafood processors
We encourage you to attend with other individuals from your campus so that you can work together to set goals and plan next steps during the convening. Morning coffee and lunch will be provided.
