Hello. There will be an ASMFC pre-meeting on January 29th at 1:00 PM. This meeting will be held at the Ft Wetherill Marine Lab in Jamestown, RI<http://www.dem.ri.gov/contact/fw.htm>. This pre-meeting will be for the ASMFC meeting taking place the week of February 1st, the information for the meeting can be found at the following link: http://www.asmfc.org/calendar/2/2016/ASMFC-2016-Winter-Meeting/664
This meeting time and location is a departure from past practices. The reason for this is that we are trying to provide our RI Commissioners better access to our technical staff at RIDEM - Marine Fisheries. We hope this will allow our Commissioners better information, which they can then synthesize in to a cohesive and coordinated strategy for RI to the extent practicable.
The public is invited to attend, the agenda will be structured to allow formal periods for public comment on the various topics.
