NOTICE

Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota

This notice is issued in accordance with the provisions of Section 20-1-12.1 of the Rhode Island General Laws entitled "Modification of possession limits and seasons for marine species managed under quotas."

This modification is as follows:

1.    Beginning 12:00AM on Friday, July 15, 2016, the commercial possession limit for the Aggregated Large Coastal and Hammerhead shark groups will INCREASE to 45 sharks per vessel per day.


Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatres/fishwild/mfsizes.htm.
