[Rimarinefisheries] Notice to Fishermen: seabed characterization experiment

NOTICE TO FISHERMEN:

The Office of Naval Research will be conducting a seabed characterization experiment on the Southern New England continental shelf (see attached map) from March 2nd to April 9th. The study will involve deployment of oceanographic moorings and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles as well as towing of hydrographic instruments. The locations of the stationary moorings are as follows:

· 70.6833° W     40.5090° N
· 70.6785° W     40.5070° N
· 70.6567° W     40.5145° N
· 70.6567° W     40.4956° N
· 70.6567° W     40.4767° N
· 70.6567° W     40.4578° N
· 70.6567° W     40.4389° N
· 70.6050° W     40.4417° N
· 70.5968° W     40.4708° N
· 70.5882° W     40.4482° N
· 70.5832° W     40.4507° N
· 70.5650° W     40.4588° N
· 70.5624° W     40.4597° N
· 70.5332° W     40.4447° N
· 70.5261° W     40.4756° N
· 70.5100° W     40.4350° N
· 70.4603° W     40.4417° N
· 70.4603° W     40.5070° N

Three research vessels (R/V Endeavor, R/V Neil Armstrong, R/V Hugh Sharp) will be operating around these moorings from March 2nd to April 9th.
