[Rimarinefisheries] ASMFC Area 2/3 Lobster Conservation Management Team Meeting

At the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission meeting in May, the American Lobster Board chose a 5% increase in egg production to help rebuild the lobster stock as part of Addendum XXV. This meeting of the joint LCMT 2/3 will be an opportunity for the industry to submit proposals on how the areas will achieve this increase.

The meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday June 7th , 2017 at 5:00 pm, Room 300, RIDEM, 235 Promenade Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02908.

AGENDA

1.       Team discussions on seven issues selected by the Management Board

2.       Issue 1: Target increase in egg production of 5%
Issue 2: Option A, Independent use of management tools
Issue 3: Option C, Recreational Management
Issue 4: Option B, Sub-Option II, Closed Season, No lobster possession, most restrictive does not apply
Issue 5: Option A, Uniform Regulations (Status Quo)
Issue 6: Option A, Maintain LCMA 3 as a Single Area (Status Quo)
Issue 7: Option A, De Minimis States Must Implement Provisions of Addendum XXV (Status Quo)
