NOTICE

Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota

This notice is issued in accordance with the provisions of Section 20-1-12.1 of the Rhode Island General Laws entitled "Modification of possession limits and seasons for marine species managed under quotas."

This modification is as follows:


1.    Effective 12:00AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, the commercial Black Sea Bass fishery will OPEN at 50 pounds per vessel per day

Please be advised that we are opening 2 days early to use up un-harvested quota from the May sub-period. Please note that the fishery will close Friday the 30th per regulation, and then re-open July 1 at 50 pounds per vessel per day.

Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatres/fishwild/mfsizes.htm.
