[Rimarinefisheries] Regulation amendments filed

[RI Marine Fisheries]

Amendments to the RI Marine Fisheries regulations were filed today, April 19, 2019, as a result of the public hearing held on March 11, 2019 and RI Marine Fisheries Council meeting held April 1, 2019.  Regulations filed are as follows:

Part 5 - Lobsters, Crabs, and Other Crustaceans<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-90-00-5>, regarding:


  *   Replacement of original lobster trap tags ordered but not initially received (section 5.8.1(R)(11)(c)).

Part 6 - General Equipment Provisions<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-90-00-6>, regarding:


  *   Clarification of open and closed periods of the Upper Narragansett Bay Trawling Area (section 6.8.2(C)(1);
  *   Clarification of area/boundary description of the Upper Narragansett Bay Trawling Area (section 6.8.2(C)(1)(a); and
  *   Extension of gill net tag valid dates (section 6.8.3(I)(6)).

The effective date of rule is May 8, 2019.  The Director's Decision memo is being finalized and will be available when completed.
