Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota


  1.  Beginning 12:00AM on Friday, December 13, 2019, the commercial possession limit for Summer flounder will be five hundred (500) pounds per vessel per day for license holders who hold a Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate, until the next sub-period begins on January 1, 2020 at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day.  The possession limit for license holders who do not hold a Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate remains at 200 pounds per vessel per day, until the next sub-period begins on January 1, 2020 at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day.

Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/mfsizes.php.
