PUBLIC NOTICE AND HEARING CONCERNING PROPOSED REGULATORY CHANGES

Pursuant to the provisions of R.I. Gen. Laws Title 20, R.I. Gen. Laws Chapters 42.17.1, 42-17.6, and 42-17.7, and in accordance with R.I. Gen. Laws Chapter 42-35, Administrative Procedures Act, the Director of the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) proposes amendments to the Rhode Island Marine Fisheries Regulations (RIMFR) and gives notice of intent to afford interested parties the opportunity for public comment.  Regulations to be publicly noticed include the following:
*         Part 3 - Finfish (250-RICR-90-00-3)
*         Part 4 - Shellfish (250-RICR-90-00-4)
*         Part 5 - Lobster, Crabs, and Other Crustaceans (250-RICR-90-00-5)
*         Part 6 - General Equipment Provisions (250-RICR-90-00-6)
The PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 6:00PM on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the University of Rhode Island, Graduate School of Oceanography, Corless Auditorium, South Ferry Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.

Attached are the summaries describing the proposed amendments.  The public notice and proposed regulations can be viewed on the Sec. of State's website at https://rules.sos.ri.gov/organizations. The hearing presentation will be provided as soon as completed.

THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD WILL END 4:00PM ON MARCH 25th.  THE MARINE FISHERIES COUNCIL WILL MEET ON APRIL 1st.
