[Rimarinefisheries] Public Notice - proposed regulation amendments

PUBLIC NOTICE - PROPOSED REGULATION AMENDMENTS
Please be advised that the Division of Marine Fisheries has publicly noticed two regulations for proposed amendment.  These regulations are:

  *   Part 1 - Definitions and General Provisions<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/promulgations/part/250-90-00-1>
  *   Part 6 - General Equipment Provisions<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/promulgations/part/250-90-00-6>
To view the public notice and proposed rule, please click on the title of the rule above and go to the "Rulemaking Documents" tab.  This is a proposed Direct Final Rule (DFR) filing, meaning that there is no hearing planned, and the rule will go into effect on the last day of the comment period on May 14 if no objections are received.  The Division is utilizing the DFR process as it is anticipated that there will be no objections to the proposed rule, due the proposed amendments being either minor or non-substantive in nature (e.g., clarifications) or have been previously addressed in workshop and have received broad industry support. The RI Marine Fisheries Council has been notified and offered support to the proposed amendments.  Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Division cannot hold in-person meetings until further notice.
