NOTICE

Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota

  1.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, August 16, 2020, the commercial possession limit for Summer flounder for vessels that possess a Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate will be three hundred (300) pounds per vessel per day, until the next sub-period begins on September 16, 2020 at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day. For vessels without a Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate, the possession limit will remain at two hundred (200) pounds per vessel per day, until the next sub-period begins on September 16, 2020 at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day.



Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/mfsizes.php.
