[Rimarinefisheries] Proposed Regulation Amendments

PUBLIC NOTICE
PROPOSED REGULATION AMENDMENTS
Please be advised that the Division of Marine Fisheries has publicly noticed three regulations for proposed amendment:

  *   Part 1 – Definitions and General Provisions<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/promulgations/part/250-90-00-1>
  *   Part 3 – Finfish<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/promulgations/part/250-90-00-3>
  *   Part 9 - Maps<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/promulgations/part/250-90-00-9> (proposed repeal)
This is a proposed Direct Final Rule (DFR) filing, meaning there is no hearing planned.  The Division is utilizing the DFR process as the amendments proposed are considered either non-substantive in nature (e.g., clarifications) or are related to compliance/consistency of state rules with a federal Fisheries Management Plan(s) where the state has limited discretion to adopting the rule. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the Division cannot hold in-person meetings until further notice.
Details of the proposed amendments are provide in the Summary of Rulemaking Action contained in the public notice.  If there are any questions or comments, please refer to the public notice(s) for contact information.  The comment period closes August 20th.
