RE:  Shellfish Direct Sales Eligibility – Farmers Markets

The Rhode Island Department of Health and Department of Environmental Management have evaluated options to allow for direct sales of shellfish to consumers in order to alleviate some of the challenges associated with selling shellfish during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are existing methods to sell to consumers through farmers markets if specific license requirements are met. Please refer to the attached document for an outline of licensing eligibility for selling shellfish to consumers.
