[Rimarinefisheries] Rhode Island Department of State Rules and Regulations Notification

[RI Marine Fisheries]

Please be advised that amendments to RI Marine Fisheries regulations Part 2 – Commercial and Recreational Saltwater Fishing Licensing were filed on November 23rd, resulting from a public hearing held on October 6th and RI Marine Fisheries Council meeting held on November 2nd.   The effective date of this rule is January 1, 2021.  The rule can be found on the Sec. of State’s website here<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-90-00-2/11188>.

This rule involves the inclusion of the Direct Sale Dealer license, which is currently in effect via emergency rule only.  The emergency rule will be expired in conjunction with the effective date of this new amendment.  Please be advised that per the interim authorization of DOH, the Direct Sale Dealer license authorizes the sale of scallops. The addition of scallops is subject to the same requirements as with other species under the Direct Sale Dealer license.
