The Atlantic Shark Institute and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Marine Fisheries, are seeking help in locating an acoustic receiver that broke loose from waters off Block Island and is floating southward. It was last spotted on Sunday about 10 miles SE of Sharks Ledge. The receiver contains data on acoustic detections of marine species and is part of the organisations' long-term study on sharks in RI waters. A picture of what the receiver looks like is below; it is about 4 feet tall, yellow and has the words Atlantic Shark Institute on it. If you locate it, and are willing to take it on board, please contact and Jon Dodd, the Executive Director of ASI at (401) 862-8002 or jonfdodd at gmail.com<mailto:jonfdodd at gmail.com> if you find it. Thank you for any help you can provide.
