[Rimarinefisheries] Regulatory workshops scheduled for January 2022

MEETING NOTICE - REGULATORY WORKSHOPS
Please be advised the DEM Division of Marine Fisheries will be holding regulatory workshops on Tuesday, January 4, and Monday, January 10, 2022, in anticipation of a public hearing to be held on February 7, 2022.  The purpose of these workshops is to provide opportunity for feedback on regulatory amendments being considered by the Division, and to provide opportunity for new proposals to be provided for consideration.  Meetings will be both in-person and virtual; please see attached agendas for details.  Draft meeting agendas are as follows:

January 4, 2022:
1.            2022 recreational black sea bass management
2.            2022 recreational scup management
3.            2022 recreational summer flounder management
4.            2022 recreational tautog management
5.            2022 commercial tautog management
6.            2022 recreational striped bass management
7.            2022 commercial striped bass general category management
8.            2022 commercial striped bass floating fish trap management
9.            2022 recreational bluefish management
10.        2022 commercial bluefish management
11.        Shortfin mako management
12.        Any other additional matters/proposals

January 10, 2022:

  1.  Research Pilot Aggregate Program

If you have a specific proposal that you would like vetted at the workshop and provided in the presentation slides, please provide the proposal in writing/email NOT LATER THAN DECEMBER 27th.  Submit proposals to john.lake at dem.ri.gov<mailto:john.lake at dem.ri.gov>.  If you have any questions about a proposal that you may be considering, it is strongly encouraged that you speak with staff prior to submitting so that the proposal is clearly represented in the workshop presentation. New proposals may still be offered at the workshop if not provided in advance, however they will not be shown in the presentation slides.
