[Rimarinefisheries] Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota

Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota

  1.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, November 27, 2021, the commercial possession limit for Summer Flounder will be six hundred (600) pounds per vessel per day for vessels with a Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate, until the next sub-period begins January 1, 2022 at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day.  For vessels without a Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate, the commercial possession limit for Summer Flounder remains at two hundred (200) pounds per vessel per day, until the next sub-period begins January 1, 2022 at one hundred (100) pounds per vessel per day.



Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.  Current commercial possession limits can be found by calling (401) 423-1920, or visiting the Marine Fisheries webpage at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/mfsizes.php.
