[Rimarinefisheries] FW: Rhode Island Department of State Rules and Regulations Notification

[RI Marine Fisheries]

Please be advised that amendments to “Part 3 – Finfish<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/regulations/part/250-90-00-3>” have been filed as a direct final rule; effective date August 18, 2022. The following changes were adopted:

1.   Amendment to the panel/door dimensions for commercial Black Sea Bass pot construction; for compliance with the ASMFC fisheries management plan (section 3.9.2(D))
2.   Prohibition on the taking or possession of Mako Sharks; for compliance with NOAA and ASMFC fisheries management plan (sections 3.21.1(B) and 3.21.2(C))
3.   Adoption of recreational Cod measures; consistent with NOAA Framework Adjustment 63 (section 3.22.1(A))
4.   Adoption of a commercial possession limit for Spiny Dogfish of seven thousand five hundred (7,500) pounds per vessel per calendar day; consistent with the ASMFC fisheries management plan (section 3.29.1(A)(2))
