</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:105%;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">south and east of the current prohibited areas of Greenwich Bay including Buttonwoods Cove, Brushneck Cove, Bakers Creek, Apponaug Cove, Mary’s Creek, Greenwich Cove and all
other coves and tributaries of Greenwich Bay and <b><u>west of a line from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management range marker located on Pole #19 Beachwood Drive in Potowomut to the southeastern most riprap jetty at the entrance to Warwick
Cove</u></b>, located at the southeastern end of Oakland Beach are closed to shellfishing beginning at
<u>Sunrise, Thursday December 1, 2016</u> and will remain closed to shellfishing until Sunrise,
<u>Sunday, January 1, 2017</u>. During this seasonal closure the conditionally approved area of Greenwich Bay as described in the aforementioned document and labeled GA8-6 on the department’s shellfish water classification maps and which include those waters
south and east of this seasonal closure line will continue to be managed as a conditionally approved area with a rainfall closure of a minimum of seven (7) days upon receipt of greater than 0.5” of precipitation within a 24 hour period as recorded at the NOAA
weather station located at TF Green state airport. This conditional closure along with other conditional area closures of the Upper Bay, Mt Hope Bay and the Kickemuit River will be posted on RIDEM’s shellfish hotline and the status of any conditionally approved
area may be obtained by listening to the recorded message by calling 401-222-2900.
