Hello,

The RIPDES Program at the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is issuing RIPDES permits to Metals Recycling, LLC (RI0023485) and Fox Island LLC (RI0023736). The permits will authorize discharge from the facilities to the Woonasquatucket River and the Narragansett Bay respectively. The permit includes monitoring and benchmarks to ensure that the discharge will not cause a water quality violation.

The public notice period begins on Monday, December 15, 2025 and ends on Friday, January 23, 2026. A public hearing will be held on Thursday January 22, 2026, if the DEM receives a request for a public hearing from twenty-five people, a government agency or subdivision, or an association having no less than twenty-five members on or before the 15th of January at 4:00 PM.
