[RIPDESnoticeDO NOT REPLY] DEM RIPDES Public Notice for Blount Fine Foods

The RIPDES Program at the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is issuing a RIPDES permit to Blount Fine Foods (RIPDES Permit ID RI0001121).  The facility which is the source of the wastewater discharge is located at the 383 Water Street in the Town of Warren and is engaged in the treatment industrial wastewater from the production of soups.  The facility reapplied to DEM for the reissuance of a Rhode Island Discharge Elimination System (RIPDES) Permit on July 28, 2017 to discharge into the designated receiving water. The permit includes limits to ensure that the discharge will not cause a water quality violation.

The public notice period begins on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, and ends on Friday, April 17, 2026.  A public hearing will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, if DEM receives a request for a public hearing from twenty-five (25) people, a governmental agency or subdivision, or an association having no less than twenty-five (25) members on or before Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
