<DIV>The Rhode Island Division of Taxation today posted two Notices regarding the real estate conveyance tax increase that will take effect July 1, 2014:</DIV>

<LI> <A href="http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/notice/Notice%202014-07%20--%20Real%20estate%20conveyance%20tax,%20RE%20professionals.pdf">Notice 2014-07</A> is aimed mainly at real estate professionals and others.</LI>
<LI> <A href="http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/notice/Notice%202014-08%20--%20Real%20estate%20conveyance%20tax,%20cities%20and%20towns.pdf">Notice 2014-08</A> is for cities and towns.</LI></UL>

<DIV>The Division of Taxation has also posted two new Administrative Decisions:</DIV>

<LI> <A href="http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/AdministrativeDecisions/2014/2014-13.pdf">Decision 2014-13</A> involves the cigarette tax and contraband cigarettes. </LI>
<LI> <A href="http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/AdministrativeDecisions/2014/2014-14.pdf">Decision 2014-14</A> looks at whether a refund claim was filed on time.</LI></UL>

<DIV>In addition, the Division has updated its <A href="http://www.tax.ri.gov/taxcreditreports/historictax2013.php">historic tax credit information page</A>. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The update shows the <A href=" http://www.tax.ri.gov/taxcreditreports/Historic2013/13-10%20Lippitt%20Mill.pdf">latest applicant to sign a contract and pay the required fee</A> under the state's 2013 historic preservation tax credit program.</DIV>
