The 2025 Annual RI Tree Warden Workshop is Tuesday, October 28 - 9am-1pm - at the Cranston Library - see the attached agenda.

Attendance has been low the past couple of years and we would like to see more of you attend - to engage with your counterparts and to help develop ways to support RI Tree Wardens.

This year, based on attendee feedback from 2024, we have Jen West from the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve as our main presenter.
While that organization might not seem connected to Tree Wardens, Jen is an experienced trainer on topics such a communicating science, engaging with stakeholders, and other aspects of environmental topics. She will be speaking on "Handling Challenging Interactions" which is something most Tree Wardens have experienced - whether when a resident wants a public tree removed or does NOT want a public tree removed, and other complaints related to trees. So bring your thoughts and examples and join us.

We also have our yearly update from RI Energy's Chris Rooney as well as the status of Spotted Lantern Fly, which you may be experiencing in your community.

Please support this workshop so we can continue to offer it in the future. Bring your other municipal tree staff as well. The cost is FREE. Just email me to register.
