Take Your Child to the
Library Day

Take Your Child to the Library Day warmly invites our New England colleagues to join us for the 2020 event. It's free, and it's a great way to spotlight services and programs to new and returning families. Our official day is Saturday, February 1, but libraries can choose to celebrate any day in February that's convenient. How to celebrate? That's up to you. Some libraries put out a drop-in craft, have a storytime, a scavenger hunt, or pass out bookmarks or stickers. Other libraries hire performers while still others offer a variety of programs throughout the day. It's customizable to your library, patrons, and available staff! We hope your library can participate - it's such a fun day to spend with your patrons, even if you start small this year with bookmarks or stickers on a table with a sign.

Additionally, we are looking for librarians in Massachusetts and New Hampshire who want the glamorous title of "State Rep." It involves sending a few emails to your state listservs and/or mentioning the event when you are with other children's library staff. It is really very little work - and did I mention the glamorous title?!! Email if you are interested.
