2019 Expo - Tours of green infrastructure installations at Roger Williams Park.

Rhode Island Green Infrastructure Coalition
Third Annual Stormwater Innovation Expo
Wednesday October 27, 2021
Roger Williams Park Casino
Providence, Rhode Island

This year’s Stormwater Innovation Expo will take place on October 27, 2021. The day will consist of workshops in the Roger Williams Park Casino, an exhibit hall, networking opportunities, short talks, and tours of green infrastructure installations in the park. We are thrilled that this year’s event will be co-sponsored by the American Planning Association of Rhode Island – welcome aboard!

This is an opportunity for municipal staff and officials, water quality professionals, land use planners, civil and environmental engineers, landscape architects, construction contractors and interested citizens to learn about stormwater management and related topics from experts in the field, and from one another.

Exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities are available. Contact Greg Gerritt at gerritt at mindspring.com<mailto:gerritt at mindspring.com?subject=2021%20Expo> for more information.

This year we are adding an exciting afternoon training program on green infrastructure on a variety of topics including permeable paver systems, vegetating steep slopes, biofiltration, and more.

This will be a fantastic networking opportunity to see new and innovative products and services being used in the construction and maintenance of green stormwater infrastructure across Rhode Island and the industry.

Because of climate change, we are seeing increased heat impacts in our city, especially where there are fewer trees, as well as issues with flooding and polluted runoff in our neighborhoods.
The Green Infrastructure Coalition is a collaborative of more than 40 non-profit organizations, businesses, and government agencies focused on using nature to reduce stormwater pollution. We develop projects to demonstrate the powerful role nature can play to create healthier urban environments. We promote policies to create sustainable funding for stormwater management and green infrastructure solutions. And we connect a wide range of partners to share lessons learned in the Providence Metro area and Aquidneck Island.
