Join the AAAS Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (AAAS EPI Center) for a webinar examining green and nature-based infrastructure solutions for the New England region. Developed in consultation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 1, panelists from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as the Trust for Public Lands will explore various opportunities, processes, and access points available to communities for the equitable planning and implementation of green and nature-based infrastructure in New England.
The two-hour webinar will highlight collaborative, multi-disciplinary approaches to support green and nature-based infrastructure solutions and address:

  *   Why green infrastructure? The scientific evidence and co-benefits of green infrastructure
  *   How to identify opportunities and resources for the equitable planning and implementation of green and nature-based infrastructure solutions to address long term economic and climate resilience
  *   Planning a nature-based infrastructure project: workshopping Mystic River coastal resilience planning
