The Southeast New England Program (SNEP) Network invites you to apply for FREE community-based technical, funding/financing and training assistance to begin or advance your community's stormwater management, ecological restoration, or climate resilience initiatives. The deadline to apply is August 1st, 2025.

Services Offered for the 2025 Solicitation Include:

  *   Stormwater Planning and Management (e.g., Stormwater Planning Series)
  *   Ecological Restoration (e.g., floodplain/riparian buffer restoration, salt marsh restoration, water quality pollution prevention or, culvert assessments)
  *   Climate Resilience (e.g., climate planning, prioritization of resilience actions)
  *   Funding & Financing (e.g. project scoping, enterprise fund feasibility assessment)

The SNEP Network is offering our popular Stormwater Planning Series for 2025-2026. This planning series offers free training and technical assistance to help guide you and your team through the process of developing a conceptual design for a nature-based stormwater retrofit in a selected drainage area in your community.

The planning series is held virtually with five 2-hour training sessions over the course of six months (October 2025 - March 2026). In between the training sessions, participants work with SNEP Network Partners to advance their stormwater retrofit conceptual designs.

In retrofit scenarios, it is often challenging to determine the stormwater control measures (SCM) best suited for the site. The manual is based on the concept that incorporating some stormwater treatment for developed sites is better than omitting all together because prescribed design standards cannot be fully met. The manual guides users to develop SCMs based on their core functional and treatment components and encourages the user to piece components together in configurations that best fit project and site-specific needs. The manual presents the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) SCM Performance Curves as a tool to quantify water quality benefit (i.e. pollutant removal credit) for a range of sizes and types of SCMs to aid in the selection process and justify the retrofit.
