Resiliency for Water Utilities, Cyber Readiness Program – self paced
The Cyber Readiness Institute is a non-profit created in 2018 to improve the cybersecurity of small to medium sized enterprises.  It is supported by Microsoft, the Foundation for Defense of Democracy, and others.  Last year they began a pilot program, Resiliency for Water Utilities, to help water and wastewater systems to improve cybersecurity, with a focus on supporting a cybersecurity leader and the topics of passwords/authentication, patching, phishing, and the use of USB and portable storage devices.  They are now in phase two of the pilot, which incorporates lessons learned from phase one.  One of the great aspects of the program is that a live “coach” is teamed up with the utility’s cyber leader to provide support and encouragement.  This program is particularly well suited to utilities that are establishing a cybersecurity program.  The time commitment for the utility’s cyber leader is approximately 1 hour per week for six weeks at their own schedule.  The program is designed for non-technical cyber leaders such as a water or wastewater system superintendent or manager. EPA Incident Response Plan Workshop – Wednesday, May 14, 9:00 am - 10:00 am EDT
The EPA is hosting a virtual Incident Response Plan (IRP) Workshop for Massachusetts's drinking water and wastewater utilities, but the EPA and MassDEP welcome utilities from other states to register.  The goal of the workshop is to help utilities establish or improve their cybersecurity IRP by reviewing key elements, available resources, and presenting the EPA’s Incident Action Checklist and Workbook.  Note that Maine is hosting a similar workshop in September, that Joshua Laufer is coordinating.
