My name is Elizabeth Allen and I am a Librarian Trainee in my last semester at<br>
the Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. As a<br>
requirement for graduation, I am completing a capstone project where I am<br>
surveying librarians all across the United States to collect data about<br>
certain Teen programs and services.<br>
<br>
Specifically, this research will investigate how teen services librarians in<br>
public libraries support civic literacy instruction through programs and<br>
services. Civic literacy instruction can be present in many different types of<br>
programs and services ranging from community service projects to book<br>
discussions. It is my hope that this survey will take measure of how civic<br>
literacy is present in public library teen services to identify patterns,<br>
areas of opportunity, and areas of success.<br>
