This full-day event will build a coalition of knowledgeable and invested partners to reduce stigma, encourage early intervention, and support navigation of services for Rhode Island’s postsecondary students.

The Summit will take place on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center (350 Eddy St., Providence).

Governor Raimondo is slated to give welcoming remarks, former Congressman Patrick Kennedy will give closing remarks, and in between we have planned a series of panels that focus on everything from the student perspective, to counseling center directors’ perspectives, to insights from national and local organizations focused on mental health in postsecondary education. Summit invitees include leadership of public and private institutions of higher education, postsecondary mental health center directors and staff, postsecondary students, community mental health providers, national organizations focused on student mental health, local organizations providing services to supplement campus counseling centers, as well as Rhode Island state government leadership and staff.
