Hi Everyone,

I apologize in advance for the delay in getting the notes from our last quarterly meeting (Monday April 8th) out to everyone, I was unfortunately struck down by a particularly unpleasant case of stomach flu last week and was out of work for most of the week. Please take a minute to review the meeting notes I've attached to this email, as well as the two other attachments that correspond with the additional announcements detailed below.

The two additional announcements are:

  1.  Please remember that today the Watershed Event at the Community College of Rhode Island's Knight Campus is happening today from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. It will include a screening of the documentary "Suicide: The Ripple Effect" and a Community Wide Resource Fair, I have attached a flyer for the event here.
  2.  Nancy Murray, the Rhode Island Lottery Problem Gambling Program Manager who presented at our 4/8/19 meeting has a follow-up request for the RI College Counseling Center Directors. Nancy and the RI Council on Problem Gambling (RICPG) would like to engage the colleges in possibly implementing a state-wide survey designed to obtain a baseline number of students who actively participate in some form of gambling. I realize that many of you already conduct extensive surveys on your student population and perhaps already gather information on gambling/gaming habits, if you are interested in participating or sharing any existing data you have on your students' gambling/gaming habits, please reach out to Nancy directly at nmurrary at rlot.ri.gov<mailto:nmurrary at rlot.ri.gov> . More details are included in the attached letter as well as an example survey developed by the RICPG.
