January Seasonal Closure for Kickemuit River and those waters at the entrance to the river in Mt Hope Bay (GA5-5) announced

Barring any additional precipitation, the conditionally approved waters of the Kickemuit River and Mt Hope Bay are scheduled to reopen at sunrise, Sunday December 31, 2017.  (Currently, no measurable precipitation is forecast for the intervening period.)  Notice is hereby given that beginning at sunrise on January 1, 2018 all waters of the Kickemuit River, and those waters at the entrance to the Kickemuit River in Mount Hope Bay (GA 5-5) that are north and west of a line from the extension of Sunrise Drive in Bristol to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management range marker located approximately midway on the shoreline of Touisset Point in Warren will close for the month of January and will remain closed to shellfish harvest until sunrise, February 1st, 2018.  Those conditionally approved waters of Mount Hope Bay and as shown and described in the Notice of Polluted Shellfishing Grounds May 2017 as GA 17-3 not included in the above description will remain conditionally approved and the harvesting status of these waters may be obtained by calling 401-222-2900.
