Modification to possession limits and/or seasons for marine species regulated under quota



  1.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the commercial possession limit for Black sea bass will be 750 pounds per vessel per week, until the next sub-period begins on May 1, 2018, at 50 pounds per vessel per day.
  2.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the commercial possession limit for Tautog will be ten (10) fish per vessel per day, until further notice.
  3.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the commercial possession limit for Bluefish will be 1,000 pounds per vessel per bi-week (i.e., each two-week period beginning Sunday, April 1), until the next sub-period begins on May 1, 2018, at 6,000 pounds per vessel per week.
  4.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the commercial possession limit for Menhaden outside the Menhaden Management Area will be 120,000 pounds per vessel per day, until further notice.
  5.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the commercial possession limit for Coastal Sharks - Aggregated Large Coastal and Hammerhead Shark species groups will be twenty-five (25) sharks per vessel per day, until further notice.



  1.  Beginning 12:00AM on Sunday, April 1, 2018, the possession limit for Recreational Tautog will be three (3) fish per person per day (10 fish per vessel per day) until April 12, where the possession limit will be three (3) fish per person per day (10 fish per vessel per day) per the published regulations.


Possession limits are subject to modification throughout the year; it is the responsibility of the licensed fisherman to comply with possession limits and all such modifications.
